Membership magazine design
A membership magazine is a renewal argument in disguise. It is the most visible thing many associations produce, and often the clearest evidence a member has that their subscription bought something.
The constraints are particular: a volunteer contributor base, copy that arrives late and in wildly varying lengths, sponsor and advertiser placements that have been promised, and a committee that will review it. We design for that reality rather than against it.

Questions we get asked
- Copy always arrives late and at the wrong length. How do you cope?
- By designing templates that stretch. We agree an issue plan with page allocations early, then flow whatever arrives into layouts built to take 20% more or less than promised without redesign.
- Can you place our advertisers?
- Yes. Send the artwork and the agreed sizes and we position them to the standard slots. We will flag any advert supplied at a resolution too low to print.
