Why an Indian studio

Studio costs in Pune are a fraction of London, New York or Sydney. The software, the print standards and the files are the same: InDesign, PDF/X, your printer's profile. What changes is the invoice.

The time difference works for you. Send comments at the end of your day and the revised proof is usually waiting in the morning.

Every project is quoted in writing, in US dollars, before work starts, and the price does not change after that.

What you send, what you get

You send

  • Your text, one document per article or section (Word, Google Docs or plain text)
  • Photographs as original files, not pasted into a document
  • Figures as a spreadsheet, so charts are rebuilt rather than screenshotted
  • Your logo as SVG, EPS or PDF, and brand guidelines if you have them
  • Your printer's specification, if the job is going to print

You get

  • A full proof of the whole publication, cover to back, not a moodboard
  • Two rounds of revisions after the first full proof
  • Print-ready PDF (PDF/X) with bleed and crop marks, built to your printer's spec
  • A web-optimised PDF for email and your website
  • The packaged InDesign files, fonts permitting, so the work is yours outright

White label for agencies and printers

Design agencies, print shops and print brokers use us as their own publication team: for overflow, for the long documents their studio does not want to lay out, or for clients who need a report or a catalogue at a price the local studio cannot meet.

  • Your name, not ours

    No DigiMagz credit, mark or metadata in the files. Proofs and finals go to you, and we never contact your client unless you ask us to.

  • Your brand and templates

    We work inside your templates and your client's brand guidelines, or build the publication system for you to keep.

  • Files your studio can open

    Packaged InDesign documents with links and fonts (licences permitting), a print-ready PDF/X to your printer's specification, and a web PDF.

  • Fixed price per job

    A written quote in US dollars before work starts, from US$149 for a 4–12 page brochure. No retainer; send work when you have it.

  • NDA before anything is shared

    We sign your NDA first. Your clients' material is used for their job only and never shown as our portfolio.

  • Overnight in your time zone

    Send comments at the end of your day; the revised proof is usually in your inbox by the morning.

We work on India Standard Time, GMT+5:30, with no daylight saving. Most of a project runs by email; calls are booked in the overlap.

    Your morning is our afternoon. Calls fit easily before your lunch.

    IST is 9 h 30 min ahead (10 h 30 min in US winter)

    Little live overlap: an early-morning call your time is our evening. Proofs sent at our end of day are in your inbox when you start.

Payment and confidentiality

How payment works

A written quote in US dollars. Fifty per cent to start, the balance before the final files are released, by international bank transfer with details on the invoice. No subscription, no per-page surprises. Clients in India are invoiced in rupees.

Confidentiality

We sign your NDA on request before you send anything. Unpublished figures, reports and photographs are used for your project only, and nothing is shown as portfolio without your written permission.

Every project is quoted before it starts. Prices are per issue (or per brochure or catalogue): in US dollars for clients outside India, in rupees for clients in India. Two rounds of revisions are included. In India the same work starts at ₹4,000. Full pricing.

Questions from clients abroad

Is it safe to outsource design to India?
Yes, if you know who you are contracting with and what you will receive. DigiMagz is the trading name of Baidehi Ravanari Atelier, Pune, India. You get a written quote and scope before any work starts, pay 50% to begin, and see a full proof of the whole publication before the balance is due. The final files are yours outright.
Will you work to our brand guidelines?
Yes. Send the guidelines and the fonts you are licensed to use. Where the guidelines cover stationery and advertising but not long documents, which is most of them, we extend them into a publication system and show you the reasoning.
Can you work with our printer in the UK or the US?
Yes. Send us your printer's specification (trim size, paper, binding, colour profile) and we build the print PDF to it, with bleed and crop marks. We answer your printer's technical questions directly. We do not buy print ourselves; a printer near you will always be cheaper and faster.
What time zone are you in?
India Standard Time, GMT+5:30, with no daylight saving. That is 1 h 30 min ahead of Dubai, 4 h 30 min ahead of London in summer and 9 h 30 min ahead of New York in summer. Most work moves by email; calls are arranged in the overlap.
How do we pay from abroad?
We invoice in US dollars. Fifty per cent is paid to start and the balance before the final files are released, by international bank transfer. There is no subscription and nothing renews on its own.
Can you work white label for our agency?
Yes. We design under your name: no credit or mark of ours in the files, proofs go to you, and we never contact your client unless you ask. You receive packaged InDesign files your own studio can open and edit.
Do you work with print shops and print brokers?
Yes. Printers send us the brief and their specification; we lay out the job and return a print-ready PDF/X with bleed, built to that specification, ready for their press.
How does pricing work for agencies?
Per job, fixed in a written quote in US dollars before work starts: from US$149 for a 4–12 page brochure and US$749 for a 24–32 page report or magazine. There is no retainer or minimum volume.
Do you sign an NDA?
Yes. Send us your NDA and we will sign it before you share any material. Unpublished reports, figures and photographs are used only for your project and are never shown as portfolio without your written permission.
