Field Heat, the letter
Letter No. 3, Grape season
This is a sample from our studio of a founder's newsletter: Gauri Sathe's monthly letter to the growers, buyers and lenders of her (fictional) cold-chain company, between the quarterly issues of her magazine. The author, company, people and figures are fictional.
It uses the same type, colours and masthead as the quarterly, so the two are plainly one person's publications: one design system, a magazine every quarter and a short letter every month. It also comes as an email version of the letter for a newsletter tool.

Decisions
One masthead, two formats
Field Heat in red with 'the letter' in her hand beside it: readers know at once this is the same person's publication, lighter and more frequent.
Four pages, four jobs
The letter, a story, the numbers and dates, and the readers. Nothing else, so it can be written from one call and read over tea.
Answering readers by name
Four questions from a buyer, a grower, a lender and a reader, answered plainly. It is what makes a newsletter a conversation.
Honest about samples
The chart says sample figures, and the last page says the author, company and figures are fictional.
