The Hour
8 March 2026
A company title that puts one of its own people on the cover has to look like a real magazine, not an HR noticeboard. The portrait has to be the hero and the brand has to be there without shouting.
The answer here is a vertical masthead. It keeps the full width of the cover for the face and still gives the title more height than a horizontal one could ever have.

Decisions
The masthead runs up the edge
THE HOUR is set vertically in heavy caps down the right side, fading from white to grey as it drops. It reads at a glance, stays clear of the face, and works as a spine when the issue is stacked.
Yellow does one job
The DELHIPOOL plate top left and the sports mark beside the cover line are the only yellow on the page. Two touches are enough to link the company to the story without colouring the whole cover.
A cover line in three sizes
A NIGHT TO REMEMBER tracked wide, VICTORY huge, AGAINST ALL ODDS condensed under it. Three tones of voice in one sans family, stacked where the jumper goes dark.
Secondary lines ranged right
The Game That Changed Everything and Champions Are Made, Not Born range right against the masthead, so the right side of the cover reads as one column.
