The Banyan

Vidya Niketan School, Nashik, annual 2025–26

A school annual is kept for decades by students, parents and teachers. It should feel like the school, not like a prospectus.

This specimen uses one candid photograph of two students walking under an umbrella and lets the jubilee carry the cover: 50 years, set large, with the story beneath.

    Two students sharing an umbrella say more about a school than a lined-up class photo. The green of the trees becomes the cover's colour.

  • The anniversary as the lead

    The 50 is set large in gold at the foot, with 'years of the morning bell' in italic beside it.

  • Lines that name people

    Sports day by house, a Marathi play by Class 9, a goodbye to a teacher after 32 years: readers look for names they know.
