Safar
Heritage India. Issue 01, Rajasthan
A luxury travel magazine is sold by its photographs and kept for its service pages. It has to look expensive and still tell a reader how to get there.
This sample covers three cities of the Thar in the manner of the best travel titles: image-first openers, one colour per city, and a panel that closes each story with the practical facts. The writers named are illustrative.

Decisions
Image-first openers
Each city opens with one full-bleed photograph and a headline in thin, high-contrast capitals set in its sky: Still lived in, Above the blue city, The palace on the lake.
One colour per city
Sand for Jaisalmer, indigo for Jodhpur, lake blue for Udaipur, each taken from its lead photograph and reused in the drop cap, the pull quote and the panel.
Service that closes every story
Getting there, Coordinates and a directory by city give airports, distances and the best months. No hotels or businesses are named.
Two type families only
Bodoni Moda for headlines and text, Montserrat Light for captions and panels. The restraint is what makes it read as luxury.
